Have decades passed by while you’ve been sitting on that story idea for your book?

That happened to me, too—until the right opportunity helped me commit and finish the first draft. And wouldn’t you know, it was a dance class that got me to write and finish my book?

If you’re like most aspiring authors, your book has spent far too much time in your head and not enough time actually writing and moving your book project forward.

I have the solution, and it’s way more fun than locking yourself in a cabin to write your book.

Book Writing Challenge

Silent Disco Book Writing Challenge

The Silent Disco Book Writing Challenge is more than a challenge. It’s:

    • Live access to five professionals who will lead and direct you while writing your book.
    • Nearly 30 hours of dedicated support to write—and finish your book!
    • Community support from other authors who are also writing a book.
    • Recorded training and resource documents you can use throughout your book-writing process.
    • A chance to win the grand prize—personalized consultations with each of our leaders and a professionally designed book cover to assist you on your self-publishing journey.
    • We will not directly edit or work on self-publishing during these sessions, although we will provide in-session resources, suggestions, and answers to any questions you may have.

The intention is for you to walk away from the challenge with a completed draft of your book so you can live and dance your story.

Book Writing Features

No matter what kind of book you’re working on, we can help you get to the finish line and provide the resources you need to prepare it for editing and publishing. Here are a few ideas

Write what you know

Bring your life to life via memoir or autobiography, or write creative nonfiction about your favorite relative, artist, historical person, or era.

Write what you don’t know

Dive into that fantasy, sci-fi, “boldly go where no one has gone” shit that explodes with worldbuilding.

Write to direct your work

Create a workbook or journal to correspond with your coaching or other group program and keep your clients engaged.

Write what turns you on

This is for contemporary or historical romance, erotic, kink, Regency, LGBTQ, paranormal/speculative, or spiritual romance writers.

Write for the future

Get your children’s, YA, picture book, or prose together.

Write real-life stuff

Organize your family’s recipes into a cookbook, and/or jot down the stories of your people, neighborhood, or city.

Write to promote

Introduce yourself to the world via your coaching, spiritual, psychological, or social theories based on your lived experience or academic training.
